What GCash says about gambling transactions
GCash’s terms and conditions don’t outright ban gambling merchants, though a general clause aimed at pyramid and Ponzi schemes comes close. The regulator sits behind every restriction that actually applies. Every BSP-supervised institution had until 48 hours after BSP Memorandum M-2025-029, dated 14 August 2025, to strip in-app gambling and gaming links and redirects, and GCash’s GLife Games top-up and withdrawal feature came down from 16 August 2025.
GCash reports, separately, that it maintains zero tolerance for illegal gambling operators, adding that roughly 3,200 merchants were blocked after abusing its QR system to redirect users toward illegal gambling and scam sites. That combination of measures curbs illegal-gambling-linked merchants as well as in-app gaming top-ups. This takes no position, one way or the other, on whether GCash may be used to fund a licensed casino’s cashier.
How fast money actually moves
GCash settles the rail beneath handles the timing, not GCash — instant posting for wallet-to-wallet and InstaPay, same-day posting for PESONet. It’s a rail-level point rather than a casino one — operators can pause a withdrawal for internal review before GCash ever receives it, and that internal step is typically the source of the delay.
A per-transaction cap is not published. None is published for this rail.
